About Matthew Warren
Matthew Warren joined Clinton & Clinton in 2006. Mr. Warren graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Business from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music in 1999. While at USC, Mr. Warren was a member of the Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society. At Whittier College School of Law, he also acquired a specialized Certificate in Intellectual Property from the law school's Center for Intellectual Property Law. While at Whittier, Mr.Warren was President of the school's Sports and Entertainment Law Society as well as a member of both the Moot Court and Trial Advocacy honors boards.
Aside from gaining a great deal of litigation and trial experience after joining Clinton & Clinton, Mr. Warren built his primary practice in the areas of contracts, agreements, business formation and general business law. Utilizing almost 20-years of collective experience working in the radio and recording industries, Mr. Warren's practice involves the negotiation, drafting and enforcement of complex agreements protecting and promoting his clients' business and intellectual property interests including: recording agreements, songwriting contracts, music publishing agreements, content licenses, side-artist agreements, merchandise and influencer agreements, management contracts, producer agreements, collaboration agreements, sponsorship agreements, production services contracts, and distribution agreements.
With internationally renowned clients spanning the music, film, television, publishing, sports and fashion industries, Mr. Warren serves as a seasoned and trusted advisor frequently called upon to evaluate and advise clients on the registration, protection and valuation of their intellectual property rights and assets, as well as counseling an extensive list of independent bands, artists and songwriters on identifying and collecting all available royalty revenue streams.
Since starting the brand new Entertainment Division at Clinton & Clinton in 2019, Mr. Warren represented, and continues to represent, a roster of multi-platinum selling recording artists, independent music labels, pod casters, talent agents, entertainment managers, college football coaching legends, independent publishing companies, and world-known sportswear brands.
Mr. Warren joined Clinton & Clinton in August of 2006 as a litigation clerk. Prior to joining Clinton & Clinton, Mr. Warren worked as a law clerk for Speiser Krause, where he gained a great deal of complex litigation experience in the highly specialized area of mass disaster lawsuits in aviation. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2009.
